GOING TO AFRICA - TRAVELING TO AFRICA

THE QUESTION:  taken from an email

"...if i arrive in Africa on the west coast, and teach people to live better lives, to earn money on the internet, to be in a better place, what really is the hope of the people i help, will they just become the people on the other side of poverty?
will they begin to use what i have shown them to try and steal money from the west?
or will they try to help the people around them, to make things not for themselves only but for them and their children? will i be wasting my time? will some gang try to steal the things i take out there? or will they just try to steal the place we build?
should i do as my god has asked me to help the ones that can't help themselves?

yes i should, not to make me look good or to make me money, or even to make me feel good.
but because if i do not then who will?
if the people there try to rob me, its not me they will be stealing from, its their children.
i can just go home? they are home.
so yes i should try to help them, i should try to save as few or as many as want to be saved!
i should try to buy some cheap lands for them to live on, some drugs to heal them, some books and pens to teach with and some food for them to eat!
so that they can learn to do it for them selves!
so that they can eat, read, and be healed!
if people can't help themselves then we must, if we do not then I guess i must, i will try to show them a better way of life! one that will work for them forever, one that they will be safe in!
and i will show them how to make the things they will sell, i will show it to the people of this world, and if god wills then things will begin the slow change back to before the war hit this world, the people will eat sleep and be safe happy and free! or i will die trying and will return to god to ask him why he gave me a task i could not do..

                                                                      MY ANSWER
It is good to hear that and it is even good to read that you have decided to go and do what you can for the poor people in Africa. It is not easy and yes it is not easy but remember that life in itself is not that easy but we still live it. Go out there and do what you can. It is true some people will try to steal from you including little boys and girls who do this just for a living. Little boys and girls who steal from strangers just to get something to eat. It is not a good habit but these children do this just to stay alive. Some people will try to attack you and some people will even attack you physically or even spiritually but this is not just in Africa. It is the same in every community not just in Africa. It is even worse in the United States. Life in itself is a struggle but we still manage to live life and to enjoy life sometimes to the "fullest".

Africa is not like America. Africa is almost a different "world" but Africa is still part of the world. Life in Africa is not the same as life in America. Life is not that easy in Africa as it is in the rest of the world especially in the developed world like the United States and the United Kingdom. Traveling to Africa is not that easy especially if you live in the developed world. Going to Africa is like going to a different world and hence you are not going to find it that easy in the beginning but I tell you that you will remain in Africa for the rest of your life if you get to know the people in Africa. There are savages in certain parts of Africa especially in Darfur but I can assure you peace and love in a country like Ghana in West Africa. I can assure you peace and love in Nigeria, In Cameroun, In Togo, In Benin, In Ivory Coast, In Kenya, In Senegal, In Gambia, In Guinea, In South Africa, in Zimbabwe, in Liberia, in Burkina Faso, in Botswana, etc.  Remember that Africa is not one country but rather one continent with over 52 different countries. Not all Africans are savages and infact just a few people are savages in African countries like Sudan, Darfur.  Africans do not fake their smiles and most Africans smile all the time even in the face of poverty and hunger. Africans love themselves and Africans love strangers and in this case visitors especially people of the other race and color. Africans do not discriminate and Africans do not fight strangers. It is a taboo to insult a stranger in countries like Ghana and Nigeria. It is an African tradition and culture to treat visitors and strangers with love and hospitality and that is the treatment you will get in Africa if you go to Africa as a responsible person.
